Recommendation? Sell Me On A Crooked River

I’m experienced with larger folders, in fact my Military is one of my favorite modern folders. The things I don’t like about it, I feel the CR covers. There is just something about dropping that kind of coin on an “unknown to me” knife.

I do love the Bowie style blade. I do love the warranty, and ability to replace the blade for (in my opinion) incredibly cheap.

I guess what I’m asking is, what’s the allure? Is there any reason I shouldn’t get one? How are the ergos? Is it a “stout” and durable folder? What are it’s drawbacks, in comparison to like sized modern folders?

Thanks in advance. I’m looking forward to some discussion on this one. I read through a “CR vs Military” thread, but I’m not asking which one I should pick over the other, so it didn’t really scratch my itch.

I took a look at one a couple of months ago and really liked it, but it's just too much knife for me. Good choice OP.

The new mini Crooked River is a much superior knife and identical look (and not mini 3.5" blade- check out online. Love this knife and can have custom options with Benchmade.
 
Placed my order for the Mini Crooked River today, should show up on Tuesday. I really love the full size, but I couldn’t resist trying it in a more pocket and user friendly size. That said, I’d still be happy to carry my full size CR as an EDC if the Mini was not around. Anxious to see how theh really compare :thumbsup:

You are gonna love it - the 4” original just too large - the mini
fits my hand perfectly and is the
prettiest Benchmade in my view.

Congrats! I absolutely love mine. Here’s a pic next to my Vic Pioneer. Poor picture but maybe it’ll give you a better idea of its size, which is perfect IMO.

It seems about perfect as far as size goes. The CR is everything I want, just a hair big to be ‘perfection’ in my hand. Thanks for making me even more anxious :rolleyes::D
 
Would anyone happen to know where I may be able to pick up a set of standoff’s, and how difficult it would be to convert from that orange backspacer we all know and love so much?

Thank you for the comparison pic, I think it helps solidify it even more in my mind. The 35 is a nice size, and I do like the single spring. It says “gentleman’s knife” to me (which is good for the occasion). The Mini CR just says “modern traditional” to my eye, which is very appealing for EDC and the some of the tougher tasks to be encountered. C’mon Tuesday! :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Got the Mini in the mail today. Very nice F&F, grind lines even, nice solid lockup. A very friendly size for EDC. I may get standoffs and have some ironwood put on. I also really like that CF pivot collar. Very nice touch :thumbsup:
 
I bought the large version and I have to admit that it is a tad too big. I like it though.
