Sell me on Military Cruwear vs. Gayle Bradley

I just got a GB. I can tell you I already love this blade! As someone else mentioned, the liner lock is a bit of pita to get used to. However, it's not bad enough to warrant putting off a purchase

I like both but the shape of the GB fits my work better than the Millie. I really don't have any tasks that require the fine tip of a Millie.

Would you rather have plain or Spyderedge on your M4 GB or Cruwear Millie?

I have both - 6 or 7 versions of the military. I think the Military is a better knife. Weighs less. Carries better in that it is thinner. The Military cuts better. I like the tip on the Military - haven't broken one off yet and I have been carrying one version or another for 7-8 years. The Cruwear is a bit more resistant to corrosion in my experience. I do think that the M4 in the GB will keep an edge longer and would be tougher - there is no doubt that the GB is a more robust knife. The G-10 scales on the Cruwear Military do show dirt/grime fairly quick - I don't know if that is a big deal or not - it will wash up with soap and water. I guess it kind of depends on what you are doing day in/day out as to which works best for you. As noted, the GB will always be there - Cruwear will disappear at some time in the near future.

I recently purchased a cruwear Manix 2 - I am encouraged by all the praise for cruwear I am seeing here.

Dreadpirate I love my Cru-wear manix I traded for. Also razzle I tracked down a millie like I said but haven't bought it yet.

I tend to gravitate to S30v, and the longer blade, especially when the overall weight is reasonable. The long handle is a bonus. One thing I have never understood is why the lanyard hole is on the opposite side as the pocket clip.
I am not a fan of blade steels that patina.

"OFF-Duty?" Well, that tells me what I needed.
I just gifted a new Millie to a cop that I know. He's happy with it.
I've had quite a few of each knife in question. They are both excellent. I'd take the G Bradley to the woods, but I want the Millie for anything else.

Lol sonnydaze that speaks volumes most guys I work with aren't big in knives but they seem to always ask to borrow mine ;)

GB used to be my favorite Spydie, but I could just never find a role for it in my carry as it was pretty chunky as a EDC so I got rid of both I had. The Millie has probably taken over now as my favorite. It's big but somehow doesn't seem big. Carries nicely. If you want Cruwear, it won't be around forever. If you don't like it, sell it and get a GB. You'll end up with both anyway.

I sort of like the Military, as it's comfortable in hand...but it is longer than I like for pocket carry. I think I would like it better if it was a little more substantial. I seem to be an outlier on that; but it is thinner and lighter than I like. I took a Cruwear Military in on trade & ended up selling it without ever leaving the house with it.

The GB is a different entity...love the M4 blade; though mine doesn't open as easily as my other Spydercos, even after adjustment (I won't adjust to the point of slop). To really give the GB a fair shake, I think I'd have to round the edges on those liners (or just take them down flush). I've been planning on doing that for over a year, and never gotten around to it :(. There was something else I wanted to do; but it's been so long since I touched the knife that I don't remember what it was.

The GB is a nice knife. What has kept me from buying one is the design. I personally (this doesn't mean this is true for others) do not like knives so designed that my hand could slip forward onto the blade. The GB has nothing to stop this if I were to use the knife hard or with wet hands. So, I passed. The Military, however, keeps my hand from moving forward onto the blade. I like that. I would buy the Military over the GB.

I have had the same thoughts. I believe the GB was designed with "cutting" in mind more than "stabbing", and the shape of the GB point compared to the Military point somewhat supports this. I like to use the keen point even though I don't do any stabbing. I was using an M4 Manix 2 as a work knife and my GB as an EDC knife. I'm going to experiment with using the GB as a work knife.

This thread just makes me want a GB even more than before. The millie, while very nice, is just too big for me.
