sell me on the paramilitary 2....

I have a number of paras and para 2's. No movement on any of my blades. Have not read of any tip breakage or suffered any myself. I actually think the tip is one of the better features on the para 2 - nothing better for digging out a splinter, which I get alot of. Lock is fantastic and once you get it broken in, compressing the lock will allow the blade to swing open. Same thing to close. Blade has an exceptional shape to cut with. Steels - whats not to like. I personally think the s30 is great - I don't find it hard to sharpen. That being said, the 204 is really really nice. I have had one for a couple of months and have not sharpened it yet. There are some still floating around out there on the sales forums. A para in 204 would be much better than earrings, necklace, etc. Yeah, I like the para platform very much.

I pry with my para 2 all the time, if your smart with it it will be fine. And if you do snap the tip thats one of the risks of prying, just sharpen it out and beat on it some more. It can totally handle it...

I have a Para 2 and it has zero blade play......I type this as I just readjusted my Manix 2 to get rid of some sight play.

I love the Manix 2 but I would trade two of them for one para 2.

Give her what she wants if you stay together maybe she'll let you play with it every now and then.

I purchased a pm2 for myself as well as my wife a while back. She thumps on knives pretty hard and the pm2 has held up beautifully. Ergonomics on the knife are the most comfortable I've encountered in a folder so far. Blade shape is wonderful, and the tip permits very precise cutting. I replaced mine as my edc a few months back when I got a hold of a Manix 2 dark blue. The manix is a tad less comfortable in the hand but I love the
s110v steel so much more.

IMO the Gayle Bradley is the most perfect knife I own. Yet the PM2 manages to kick it out of my pocket very often.

I was skeptical of a lot of things about the PM2 before I bought one. The compression lock was an unknown to me, the thin tip on the blade looked fragile and the liner and associated lock bar seemed a little thin too. It didn't take very long for me to overcome my concerns. It's not a knife to use as a pry bar (no knife really is) but the thin tip and tapered blade has been more useful than I thought it would be. It's a solid knife that just seems to work.

I was just doing some fairly heavy cutting with my 204p para 2 yesterday, hacking up some overgrown sun hardened zucchinis for my chickens. (Don't laugh, those vines really harden up after a while) It's great that you can back your hand away from the blade and really lock your fist up on it. Amazing, really that so small of a tool can be comfortable in the hand like that. One slight negative about the large handle is that I find it kinda pokes me a bit in some positions, like when I'm kneeling. Even though it's a very lightweight knife the clip positions it high enough that I can feel when I'm wearing it. I don't care, I like the knife so much, I like to be able to tell I have it on me...
