Sell to Buy

LOL.
Thanks All. As crazy as it gets, this is what we do. It's a knife thang. ;) Keep the Sunny side up.

sometimes it's really not the best....I regret selling the large regular sebenza I bought from Lycosa.....cos now I can't find any!!!

Once I own a knife it stays mine. I can't part with it, I'm a hoarder in that sense.
On very rare occasion I find I look at a knife I own and it doesn't move me at all, and I will trade that knife.
But it's only happened like three times in the 30 years or so since I bought my first knife. So no, I don't sell to buy, ever. I just buy. LOL!

The Dutchman spoketh. ^^^
James... you sold the LR Sebenza???
you'll get another. ;)

My wife says when I die and I quote " Instead of a coffin do you want me to call Paul Long and have him make a Sheath for your corpse". She is very supportive of my hobby, and I have traded, bought, sold more knives then I can remember.. Sometimes I just line them up and try to figure out which one needs to be upgraded.. It is getting tougher now cause I am really liking my line up right now.. The only one I regret selling is my small sebenza, and one dozier..

I wish I could keep track of the trade lineage to that degree. My arrangement with myself is that my "hobby funds" are completely separate from my regular wages. Under these rules, most of my knives are essentially just equity.

I've traded off dozens on knives and only regret one. I knew it at the time, though.

Gang--- I have it narrowed down: Busse, Leu and Burnley for Fixed blades and Haney, Urbanovsky and Emerson for folders. :):D

I'm a student and I work VERY little, I buy and resell many knives, new or used
in this way I keep the ggod ones and sell the lesser good ones for better knives

I traded my Busse BATAC CG for Busse ASH-1 CG, thats the only way I can afford new Busses.

I can relate. With some creative trading, one can experience a LOT of nice knives with very little risk. I keep the ones I like. I trade or sell what doesn't get carried enough.

This is the way I make my hobbies support themselves. First was firearms, then paintball markers, now bladery. I don't have a whole lot of extra money on a regular basis but the wife told me I can spend what I like on knives as long as I don't hurt the budget. So it's usually sell one to fund one. Every now and then I run across something at a really good price I can flip to get extra funds, that's always nice.

I've found knives an easier hobby to support than guns. Apparently my taste in guns (classic euro style sporters and safari guns) is not shared by many people so it made it harder to sell the ones I had and get my money back. With knives it's much easier to not lose money if I decide I don't like or want something any more.

I am guilty as charged! I just sold a few knives to recoup a purchase on the exchange. I think it's part of being a knife nut!

Do it all the time lol. But mostly because there isnt any knife stores around me and the only chance I get to my hands on a knife is to buy it. Also even if I like the knife if I dont find myself carrying or using it I usually sell or trade it. The only knives that have made it along time are my strider sng and my spyderco sage 2. But, this post is funny to me because in the last week I've sold like 5 knives because I have a chance to get something I've wanted for like 2 years. And for me the xm-18 was the gateway knife it was my first high end knife and it ended up being the fund for like 5 other high end knives after selling and trading.
