I just bought a gold membership, and one of these days I would be interested in selling a homemade knife. Am I too young (16) to sell a knife? Thank you!

edit to add: this would be with my parents permission

Keith, I fixed your post, just sounds a little better.

I don't think there is a legal age for possessing knives in B.C., so there is no law against you selling knives, as long as the knives you sell are legal to own in the area that you are sending them, and you are selling to someone of legal age (some places do have laws governing the age that a person can own a knife). The problem that you have is that you might be too young to enter into a contract.

ok, because I figured that I am too young to buy a knife...

thanks for the fix, I hope to make more when i get my grinder built.

Of course you're old enough! Hang around Shop Talk; it's a tremendous resource, and get to work and make some knives for yourself, and before you know it you'll be making knives good enough to sell. It's not like being a virtuouso on the violin, you don't have to start young, but it sure won't hurt you.

I have nothing to offer that wasn't already said, but do you have a pic of this knife? in any stage of completion?
