I have been on an old axe head collecting binge for the last year or so and have managed to end up with about 15 old American ones in pretty good shape.Collins,Plumb,Truetemper etc. Im going to clean them up,sharpen them and probably try to sell some of them on B.F.. My question is; Do I re-haft them or sell without a handle? I know some people are pretty picky about the type and length of handle, like me. Would you prefer to buy an old clean, sharp head with or without a handle?--Thanx for your replies--KV

I would personally like an old, clean, sharp head WITHOUT the handle...

...good opportunity to choose the wood, build it, customize it, etc.

I've bought plenty of old axe heads off E bay and I always request they cut the handles off before shipping so I can polish the heads and build my own handles.
