Selling knives hurts my soul.

Paint it huh? Hadn't considered that. What color did you go? I'm an engineer, so I'm fatally partial to battleship grey.

Even clear enamel is better than nothing. Some guys do theirs black. Grey would be fine.

Mine isn't painted...just rusted...and it'll stay that way. :(

I put a coat of Johnson's Paste Wax on my scroll saw table about once a year as was recommended, never has rusted.  :D And the patina is super nice.;)

Yea, but you're in a very dry climate. I paste wax my tables (so many tables) three or four times a year, and I'm getting patina, not rust. But Lord its so much work. I do three coats at a time. I've got ~11 cast iron talbetops to do. I REALLY don't want to add another machine to wax.

Get some Rust-Oleum

Great stuff!

Comes in a variety of colors

BWHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!:p And where did you come up with that idea? ;) :D Oklahoma is another one of the states where you can run the furnace and air conditioner the same day with the humidity going from 90% to 15% but generally hanging about midway somewhere in the fifties. Our heat index in the summer can be as bad as our wind chill in the winter because of the humidity!!!!

This is being a rainy week and it's tearing me a new one, humidity right now is 73%!!!!

As Dan says Rust-Oleum is good stuff and comes in a multitude of colors, even in spray cans now. The WalMart SuperCenters generally have a real good assortment. :D
Years and years ago before it came in spray cans and had to be either brushed or painted on with a sprayer Rust-Oleum smelled really fishy as it is/was made with fish oil instead of the more conventional oils like most paint. I don't recall the spray cans smelling that way but with your asthma you will need plenty of ventilation anyway.

The spray cans are a tremendous improvement...making Rust-Oleum not only more tolerable...but desirable.
