So, I kinda messed up my CRKT m16-14sf. I bent out of the shape the auto-lawks so it no longer engaged so I had to remove it. The liner itself is may be slightly bent. But, It is majorly sticking. It is extremely hard to disengaged the liner lock now, and when deployed the blade has slight movement, and almost feels like a small rattle compared to before when it had zero movement in anyway. How can I fix the lock stick and maybe fix the knife overall? Or thoughts on the M16-14SF CRKT MSRP $135 (the aluminum not G10).

thanks,

Gideon

What happened that caused the damage? That will better help us help you. Disassembly may be in order.

I loctite the knife shut (fail) and I didn't have the proper tools so I mangled it trying to get it unstuck lol. I got the proper tools now, and I dissembled and put it pack together (removing) the auto-lawks. But it seems during that mangled attempt to get the blade unstuck, I bent the liner and auto-lawks. I probably affected other parts of the knife without knowing lol. At this point, I am kinda tempted to toss the knife. But, only had it for like a month. So, it sucks.

Pictures of this mangling would help even more. Please don't spend $130 on another CRKT. After you get help figuring out the problem with this knife, let us help you in choosing another if it comes to that.

It was actually only $100 after "discount from the MSRP". Except the shipping cost like over $30 lmao. The CRKT is a cool looking knife, but I think it was a waste of money now haha. I have been looking opinions on this thread: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1349385-What-is-the-better-choice-in-knife would love your input.

Unless you are a knifemaker or have some kind of mechanical engineering experience, retire the knife. Attempting to fix an already halfway ruined knife is not going to end well for your fingers. No amount of your tinkering will fix that knife or make it safe once it has been modified the way you describe.

I am thinking that is the best option. Shouldn't of been too lazy to go out and purchase the right tools. Won't make that mistake again lol. Such a waste.

Good choice. Are you looking for a replacement recommendation?

The options in your price range are endless! Tell us more about what you do with your knives.

I am looking for a tactical blade, one side high traction. Hopefully the other side isn't so it doesn't tear apart my pocket. Also heavy use. 3.6 - 4inches of blade. IDK, wanted to go into more details in private haha.
