I put this one together using a blade from Jantz new line ,3/32" flat ground 440C made in USA. OAL is 12-1/4" ,it has 7-1/2" of cutting edge. Nice thin slicer grind. Light in weight. At the heel of the blade it is 1-5/8" tall,not a " knuckle buster" ,I have pretty big hands. Not a chopper,a slicer. I used figured maple with an oil finish & brass pins. It feels really nice and should work out great. Perfect size too. I will be doing more for sure
