Anyone know a better way to get in touch with Semper Paratus Tactical. I sent them an email and still no reply. Should I go with someone else... are they known for taking a long time? Thanks.

Dan is usually pretty good about getting back to you. I have a job out to him now, as well as a request for a more custom sheath that I have not heard back from him about.
He's a busy guy, but his work is top-notch. If that is the type of sheath you are looking for, give him a few days.
And I think I was told 3 weeks for a "standard" cgfbm sheath, that was about 2.5 weeks ago...

and dont forget e-mail is an imperfect form of communication, they are easily lost in the ethers. I always send a second "just checking" e-mail if I dont hear from the subject in a few days, and it takes me a few days to answer e-mails because of the volume I get.

Give Dan a call. He is good about getting back to his customers but he did recently say he was very busy stitching up sheaths.

You might also try Brian at Okuden, Dan and Brian keep in contact, so he might be able to help.

Got a reply back... Here is another question... He said he has a FBM in shop with Magnum handles and he could make the sheath from that. Mine have standard handles... Correct me if I'm wrong but the Standard handles are thinner yes? So if he made one based on a FBM With magnum scales.... my knife would fit in it it would just be a little loose in the neck where it engages the handles right? Which is fine by me since it has the handle strap. How much thicker are the magnums compared to the standard? Shouldn't make too much difference right?

He is making one for me at the moment for my FBM with standard handles.
He said he had a knife to work off of for me. I imagine he either has, or has access to, each.

You want to make sure the right handle is used.

When did you place your order? ~One week ago he said only a FBM with magnum handles was on hand. If he has a standard, I better hurry up and place an order!

Any idea what kind of options are available?

I placed my order AROUND three weeks ago, though I'm not 100% sure. I know my credit card got charged today. I shot him an e-mail, but haven't heard back. I also know that at that time, he said he had a knife on hand that he coud use, when I told him I had standard handles coming. I do hope that it is a standard that was used.
I just left a voicemail and will let you all know.

All you guys have to do is call him....I posted his number up top....He has always answered when I called.

If your credit card just got charged, you should be getting the sheath pretty soon. I've placed a couple orders and the best way to get in contact with Dan is to give him a call. It takes him a while to respond to e-mails because he doesn't make sheaths full time. He has a day job as well. His phone number is (253) 973-1807.

I've already left Dan a message. I did that before, and got a call back the next day. I have ZERO doubt that I'll hear soon, and I will be more than thrilled with the sheath.

I've got two sheaths from Dan. One for my SJT and the other for the Ratweiler.
Excellent sheaths. I have talked to Dan several times and he never fails to return emails. Just be patient.:D

What would be the biggest problem with getting a sheath made for Magnum scales when my knife is standard. I mean if it's a little loose I don't care... I actually don't want the knife to lock in and require a lot of force to pull out. If it were a little loose I wouldn't mind... let me know as I'm pretty sure I'm going to go ahead and order it unless there is the possibility that it will just simply not fit. Loose is ok... too tight would be a problem. Appreciate the help guys.

The fit into the sheath would probably be OK...it is the fit of the snapped nylon strap that holds the knife in the sheath that would be too loose if based on a magnum handle for a standard handle.

Hey guys,

It just happens that I had breakfast with Dan yesterday. He is SUPER busy (and has no idea I'm posting).

Most of you know this, but... Dan has a day job that eats better than 40 hrs/week. If you've been charged, your product is on its way.

On the Magnum vs Standard scales question: Dan's sheaths use Kydex liners which means that the Kydex does not have anything to do with knife retention. The top of the liner is trimmed down so that it covers just the last 1/4" or so of the scales (where the bevel is). A knife with standard scales will not "notice" the small amount of extra room but magnum scales will not fit in a sheath made with standard scales. Due to the consistency of "Uncle Gerry's" blades, the portion of the liner on the blade will fit like a glove (no rattles and smooth action)

The oven now appears to be hot so I'd better get to work!

Thanks for the update. I was about to post as well. I got an e-mail back from Dan, and he seems like he's crazy busy at the moment. I also got the sheath in...and it is fantastic. I can not WAIT to have the knife in to put in it! His craftmanship is exactly what I have heard (flawless) and I will not hesitate to order a sheath for the badger, either.

OOOP! Almost forgot...

Once Dan has had the different handles in the shop, he can make standardized parts for the thumb snap. As long as he knows which model you have, he'll get the right one on your sheath.
