How do I? Send a private message to someone who restricts profile view

I'm a new user here and saw a knife I might want to purchase. I would like to ask the seller a question, but I don't see how to send them a private message. When I click their profile I get a message that says "This member limits who may view their full profile."
 
You might have to post in the sales thread and ask for an email -- or for them to email you, or message you on your profile.
 
Thank you very much. I think I just read I need to get the basic membership at least to be able to private message. I need an "old guy / not good with technology" tag on my profile!
 
Correct, a Basic Membership is the minimum needed to send PMs.

Once you upgrade, you still wont likely be able to go to their profile if they have it set to private. No worries though! If you click their username in a thread that they've posted in, you should see an option to Send Message.
