sending 1095 for heat treat - questions

I have 6 knives that I need to have heat treated and my previous knives were done by a local knifemaker who, I believe, is currently out of the country and I don't know of any other local makers.
My uncle told me somebody in his machine shop could do it but I was concerned that they may not know the proper way to heat treat 1095.

My questions are...Would somebody in a machine shop typically know how to treat 1095 and should I risk it?
After you tell me not to risk it:), any suggestions on where to send a small batch of 1095 for heat treat?

Thanks

Unless you have a friend that works in a machine shop they probably aren't gonna want to H/T blades for you. If they do they will probably charge the hourly shop rate which is usually pretty steep. If they are set up to do H/T they're probably not gonna know how to do 1095 properly.
I do H/T on oil hardening steels. Use the contact info. listed below to get in touch with me and I'll go over the prices and details.

Thanks Darrin. My uncle said they would heat treat them for free but I'm not convinced they know how to do 1095. I'll send you an email for details.
