Horses really make it hard on backpackers when it's muddy.
Ain't that the truth. I was on hike that was made impossible by horses tearing up the trail.

How are you liking the kilt? Thinking about picking one up. The mtn hardware one didn't work for me though. I have soccer player thighs.

I like it ok although you can still get some chafing if you aren't careful.

The mountain hardware one is good but heavy and relies on snaps which may or may not be too tight.

I recently got one of the Sport Kilt hiking Kilts. Much better.

Lighter material.
Belt loops so you can attach a belt and hang a knife off it.
No snaps uses VELCRO.
