Im doing a little outta-town job that involves a couple flights, with no checked baggage (small aeroplanes). Obviously pocket knives are a no-go. A couple days in and I'm constantly checking my right pocket, thinking "oh no!!", then remembering that the Sebenza isn't supposed to be there. 10 minutes later, the same thing.

Sheeeeesh!!! What have I done to my brain????

My best advice, buy a fancy-pants Damascus inlay while you are there. Use the piss out of it and mail it home before you take off.

Great idea. I've had my heart stop when I forgot my Sebenza wasn't supposed to be there when I reached for it.

I have become so freaked out about losing my knife that i almost KEEP my right hand on my knife/pocket area! It is ridiculous tho lol

Last year, flew to Disney for the food/wine fest for a few days. After the first day, I woke up the next morning, started freaking out because I couldn't find my EDC CRK. Took me a moment to realize I didn't bring a knife.

Last week I was 5 minutes into my drive to work when I realized I had forgotten my Mnandi. I seriously considered turning around to go get it. The kicker is I keep an all purpose knife in my desk for unusual circumstances...

I keep the Freedom Sebenza we talked about last night there, just for days I forget my EDC. Wouldn't want to have to go a day without a Sebenza!

That is a cool knife! I am getting closer to where I could do that type of modification to a CRK. CLOSER being the key word....

That's an awful feeling. Kind of like walking out the door without your phone.

Dude, you messed up your brain! lol. Seriously, I would hate this if it happened to me. Thankfully, I did not need to fly anywhere for the past 3 years for work. When the time comes, I'd probably end up the same as you... :D

I have to say you have a better self control that I had. Happened to me already a couple of times when I started with CRK. I just couldn't do it, had to turn back and drive home to get it. Work be damned... I ma getting that Sebenza... lol

I'm going to bring that one home long enough to get it in at least one of my picture groups soon. It's dogeared, but loved.

Man I've been in London since Sunday on business. Here for another week. I'd have checked luggage just to bring one of my knives. But even my Inkosi isn't legal here.

Worst part of it is that I'm doing a project installing a bunch of Cisco Nexus equipment and there are so many boxes, packing straps, ties, etc I'd much rather be cutting open with my Inkosi than with my teeth.

I completely agree! I've got two little babies, so every morning is a mad rush out the door. I forgot my zaan and I was basically sick all day without it. I can't imagine going a predetermined duration of time without it. It's hard enough kicking myself in the butt every time I reach for it on a "forgotten" day.

I need to send it in for a spa treatment, but this is the exact reason I can't bring myself to do so. I keep putting it off.

Of course, it would be far from having a CRK, but has anyone tested the new(ish) rule of being allowed to carry small non-locking folders, SAKs, etc. on planes? I've read about it, but too scared to try until I hear several positive results...

They were going to do that but after the airlines objected the new tsa policy did not go though. If you look at the TSA site you will see that knives are not allowed. I checked a few weeks ago.

I somehow left work two days ago without my wedding band or knife! After repeatedly feeling my empty pocket with my naked hand I went home during lunch to get them:thumbup:
Recently I had to travel to California to work, and didn't want to bring any knives in my bags. I bought one there and then sent it back as mentioned above.

Today I had to visit the hospital emergency room at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. It was a long walk from where I had to park to the ER entrance. And as I walked in I saw the metal detector! Oh Crap! Do I walk back to my car and put my Sm Seb in the glove compartment? Or do I check it with the guard. I decided to check it rather than do all that walking. Worried about my knife the whole time I was there. But good news . . . my knife was safe and sound when I went to claim it!!! Sweet!
