SERE 2000 Review Request.

I found this site which has reviews of many, many knives; however, they are in Russian. Using one of those online translators, I can get the idea of what the author is saying most of the time. At the least there are always a lot of nice pictures for every knife, which I certainly enjoy. :)

SERE 2000

Run a search. There is a sh-t ton of info on the SERE 2000 already posted. I've posted on my expieriences w/ it at least three times. The short version: I love the design, but the lock sucks and the QC specific to the liner locks at Al Mar is suspect.

I had one. It was a good knife. Locked up fine and the blade took a good edge. My issue with it was that it was too heavy for its size and found myself carrying other knives (especially on the trail) that didn't seem as much like an anchor in my pocket.

If I require strength in a knife I always rely on a fixed blade. A stout handle on a folder (such as the SERE has) should not deceive one into thinking it's a fixed blade. It doesn't change the characteristics of the lock itself.
