Today was a good day...the post came to my door with a little package from TOOLSHOP.DE
I've been reading a lot of good stuff about the AL MAR SERE 2000, seen a lot of reviews, and even asked to a well know SERE 2000 owner of this forum (I'm sure you guys know who I mean ;) ).
But when I opened the brown box, the only thing I could say was WOAW...
I can tell you guys, this folder is by far the best folder I've ever held in my hands! The quality is perfect, the workmanship is the same as seen on customs folder and the feel in the hand is just soooooo right... I'm lefty so I mounted the clips on the other side, put it in my pocket, and even if it's a big folder it just disapear in the pocket and stay there without any bulky feeling... soooooooooooooo cool!!!!! :D :D :D

tu fais des infidelites a ton bandicoot?? I thought you were lost to the INFI cause :D :D :D
Let me guess about someone on this forum who would drop this knife only from his cold dead hands... Glockman?! ;)

hehehehehehehe yep frenchkiss you're right... well...I still love INFI but as long as they don't come with a folder as good as this one...I'll have to stay on the SERE ;)

It's good to see another fan of my beloved SERE 2000!.:D.

Use it and carry it in good health.:).

Good snag. The SERE 2000 is one fine folder. The only thing I could find wrong with mine, was that it wasn't the quickest to deploy due to it carrying a little deeper in the pocket. When you have to nit pic that fine, to find something wrong with a knife, you know you have a good one.

glockman99, the Al Mar Ambassador

but you can't deny it, the SERE2k is such a great knife...i only wish i had it when i was in the scouts ...instead of my small swiss army knife...now all i do with it is open letters...i don't even have cardboard to cut...

I must admit that I am still amazed of the custom like quality of my SERE 2000 after owning it for 3 years. For the money, they are amazingly well finished and constructed.

Glad you like it! It's one hell of a great knife. My favorite folder - bar none... and that's after I tried LOTS of 'em.

Carry and use it with pride man! :D

I had to pick up a SERE 2000 after hearing so many good things. It is a nice piece. I still carry my BM710HS more for various reasons. I was curious, for those who rage about the SERE 2000, have you ever handled a BM710HS? If so, and you like the SERE 2000 better, explain why.

THe 710 has a slight recurve that i wouldn't be happy sharpening...

Anyway...we're talking about the SERE2K....It's great and we all love it...

Man...we really should have a SERE2K owner's club...

There's no doubt that the axis lock is superior to just about every other one out there. However, the axis goes "pip" when I open it, and my SERE 2000's liner goes "CLACK!"

I am a 710 devotee(still in deed of a 710-02), and I have INFI(steel heart e) and a Sere 2000 heading my way, and guys I feel like beating my head against the wall to end the waiting!!!:D :D I always thought it would take a lot to beat my 710(bt, plain edge)/Nimravus(in M2) combo...

Mike,

You are going to LOVE that SERE 2000 I sent to you! That VG-10 is some excellent steel, and the SERE 2000 is as solid as a piece of iron.

It's sort of funny that I sent you the SERE 2000 today, and a guy here in Washington State is sending me/has sent me a Benchmade 710 from another trade. It looks like on Monday, I'll have a chance to compare a BM 710 to my remaining SERE 2000.
