Both are great knives, so you can't make a wrong decision between these two.
Advantages of the Military:
It's a tad lighter in weight (about 2 ounces).
The handle is a bit longer, which good for those with gorilla hands.
It's available in a variety of scale options (black, green, digital camo, orange).
The thumb-hole is superior to the thumb-stud IMO.
Advantages of the SERE 2000:
It's a bit stronger overall (mostly due to the full-length dual liners.
The blade tip is a bit more robust.
The deep-carry pocket-clip is great (the Military rides a bit too high for my taste).
BTW, I think that a better comparison knife to the Military would be the Al Mar Shrike.
