Sere 2k, adamas, 560

I've honestly not even heard of the Sere until this thread, so I have absolutely no input on that knife. I have a ZT 0561 and an Adamas 2750 (Auto) and I like them both a lot!

The Adamas gets very little pocket time but I have used it quite a bit, I just carry it in it's sheath that comes with it attached to my pack, it takes up a bit too much pocket space and seems to pull my pants down even when wearing a belt. I have very large hands so it's size and handle shape work very well for me. It's built like a tank and I wouldn't have any issue if this was the only knife I had with me when I left the house in a SHTF situation. I bought it used from a coworker who had used and abused the knife quite a bit, the blade had quite a few chips in it. I was worried that D2 was going to be a huge pain to resharpen but, I was able to get the knife razor sharp in one night of dedicated work although there is still one very small chip that I haven't gone back to fix.

The ZT 0561 gets a ton of pocket time! Aftermarket scales are readily available and I've got a few different scales to go with it which is nice for being able to alter the appearance based on what type of knife-friendly environment I'll be in. Taking this knife apart to swap scales or clean is a breeze! ZT also is very good about sending replacement parts (ie. washers, screws, pocket clips) which makes me even happier to know that I can use factory replacement parts when I need them without having to send my knife back to the company like I would with the Adamas. As far as quality: It's built like a tank! Not quite to the same degree as the Adamas but, it's also much thinner, lighter, and pocket friendly, so I'll gladly take those advantages! Flips like a dream, I can put a serious edge on it, great ergonomics and very useful knife in every aspect!

If you plan on carrying it regularly, my vote goes to the ZT 056x line. There really isn't anything bad about the knife, it's a pleasure to own and use! The Adamas is an amzaing knife though and I am glad to own one and keep it attached to my BOB because it seems like a damn good knife to have on me if I ever really need to do some serious work! I'd say my overall suggestion is to buy both! Haha

As promised, here are the pics comparing all three as well as a Benchmade Contego... Out of the 560, Sere and Adamas I'd pick the Contego because of the M4 blade steel and how easily it carries for it's size :D:thumbup::cool: Definitely one to consider.

This would be my vote as well if we can include the 810. Otherwise 0560.

Only one of the 3 I have owned is the SERE.; sorely disappointed as the blade wobble returned after being "corrected' by the factory. Wound up selling
it to a friend w/ considerable knife making skills and he couldn't fix it either. This is NOT a condemnation of Al Mar or their service; I have a Shrike
that is virtually custom quality in every respect. I think I just got a lemon.

My S2K is superb in terms of F&F; heavy for it's size though... The action is awesome too, flips open easily and smooth vault like lock up.
