Serial Numbers?

Are the serial numbers that are engraved on the knives sequential from the first knife in that series?

Example if my ESEE 3 mil number is 4000 is that the 4000th ESEE-3mil that was produced?

Is it the same for all other ESEE knives?

Unless I've massively misunderstood something... yes, the serial numbers are sequential.

i think all the variations of the different models all are in the same series of numbers, so 3, 3MIL, serrated or clip point and the different colors will all be in the same series of numbers. IOW, they didn't start back at zero when they added the mil or clip point versions.

and from the contest for the 10,000th Izula it's obvious that each model has it's own series of numbers.
