Seriously, Where's the Maxamet?

I actually saw a maxamet PM2 sitting in the case at a well known dealer about 2 months after the initial “wave” of them had all sold out, it was selling for MAP just like all the “commoners” around it.

It didn’t occur to me at the time but I could have easily bought it and turned my $200 into $400 easily on the secondary market.

Oh well, guess I don’t have the “hustler” mindset.

So far the thread on maxamet shows it doesn't rust easily. Mine hasn't rusted at all and I've had maxamet since the Mule Team came out. It will patina unless oiled. But it takes alot to rust.
 
My Manix has picked up quite a bit of rust being carried in my back pocket over the summer.
 
Mine got some rust, it's not the end of the world, just the price you pay for the performance.

If it gets bad it comes off very easy with Barkeepers friend and a non scratch pad.
