Hello,

First need to apologize for my poor english!
I'm french knifemaker, and I wonder how to make a serrated edge.
How to grind it? What kind of tool to use?
I can't find anything in France.... :-(

Thx a lot!

Serrations can be put in with a small round file..The type that you would sharpen a chainsaw with..Tape the round file to a piece brass rod that is the same size as the file that way after you cut in your 1st serration you can put the brass rod in the 1st slot and use it as guide/spacer to keep the serrations even... Hope this works for you..

Thats a cute idea...........for spacing the cuts.

You are a fount of info

look into the usual suspects network. another knife forums for tactical guys.

they have some good info on using special tools to dress your stone grinding wheel to a specific pattern to be used to slowly cut serration into a blade.
just a simple tool turned on a lather made out of some A2. mick strider will tell ya about it
good luck

Bonjour

Je ne parle pa Francais

i wish i new it better but i didn't learn much in school.

the round file taped to a piece of round stock seems to be the most common/ cheapest way of doing it, at least that is the most common way people suggest

bonné chance (i think i spelled that right)
