serrated or non serated?

hello all,what is the difference in a serrated wheel and a non serated wheel fo the same size?

I believe the serrated wheels are much more aggressive when grinding. Great for hogging out, but maybe too aggressive for detail work.

Serrated wheels hog material faster and became popular because they tend to track easier. With newer grinding machines and higher quality abrasives, tracking isn't as much of a concern. I've never had much trouble with the finish from them, but I do prefer a smooth wheel and I usually do all of my work on one.
