serrated sebenza?

Im gonna have to disagree with all you serrated haters out there. I have a large Sebenza 21 that I sent to CRK to have a serrated blade installed. I think it looks amazing..

Birdhunter, where did you get the serrated small 25. I thought that the serrations CRK used utilized both sides of the blade?

I too like the serrations. This Small Classic S30V is in my EDC rotation.

In my opinion, scalloped serrations work well on a combo edge knife. I do not like spyderco serrations at all. I find they rip more than cut. Victorinox makes the best serrations in my book :)

Odd, because I've found that Spyderco cuts the most effective serrations. And with very few exceptions, I've found serrated blades work best on a fully-serrated blade.

Have you ever tried the Victorinox serrations? They're fine scallops that don't snag. In my opinion, the Spyderco teeth are far too pointy and jagged. Kershaw also makes some excellent serrations that cut cleanly. I have a few full Spyderedge knives too, but they're not my cup of tea. But specifically for combo edge knives, I like the finer scalloped serrations. To each their own though :)

I'm gonna go ahead and say that I love all spyderco serrations as well. My sebenza is my secondary edc while my spyderhawk is my primary. Yes, I cary both at all times. I have a hard time believing that there is a "one and done" EDC. My spyderhawk has very aggressive serration and a long hawkbill profile; it's a chainsaw of a knife and I beat the living nuts out of it. The sebenza on the other hand I use for precision, delicate work.

The owner of Spyderco has a beautiful quote about how knives are an instrument designed to separate one thing from another. All knives do this and the sharper the better. IMO a dull serrated blade with separate better then a dull straight. That being said, everyone has their opinion on serrated vs straight and most of the time is has nothing to do with cutting potential but in the look and feel of a knife.

Its a tool built for a purpose; but without a craftsmen its just a hunk of metal. The beauty come from the unification of the two; no matter shape size or cut.

I got my Small Regular from a member of BF. In doing some searches it seems CR did several types of serrations. I have seen several sebenzas with the single sided serration with BD cards that say Serrations. I did not get a card with my small but feel confident they are done by CRK. I have to agree with you I love the serrations on my small.

Yes to that last and on Victorinox, no, I haven't. :) My go-to serrated blades are an old Military with the 440 V blade and a gen 1 Paramilitary with an S30V blade, both fully serrated.
