Hello there :)

Guys I need a some help with this topic.

Client want on his knives, serration. 30mm long from the beggining of cutting edge.
And this order will be big. But I don't have stuff to make good serration on each knife.

Can you recommend me good stuff for making this?
And what serration type is better?

Thanks from above guys :)

Cheers,

Yes, that is what you have to use to set up production grinding of serrations. They wear, and are best used on controlled speed, coolant flood, equipment. It takes a bit of practice, but they work fairly good once you get the procedure down. That wheel cuts a 33mm wide serrated segment.

I will have money to get propper stuff for this.
But Also I need to know what serration are good, and what are bad in knives.

And what stuff to buy.

The wheel shown has the most popular serration pattern. It will work perfect for your project.

You will want to make a rock solid arbor mount for that grinding wheel. Make it in stainless if possible, as it will get wet in use. Belt drive and VS is desirable.
Make the work rest adjustable to have the grinding done edge up.
You will grind at roughly the same angle the edge is, maybe a little steeper.
A coolant mist spray on the wheel is desirable.
For multiple blade grinding operations, a sliding clamp that holds the blade in the exact same position for each side is really important.
