Serration Proportions on Combo Edges

I'm curious as to why combo edges have varying proportions of serrations to straight edge. Is it geometry? Intended purpose? Any light to shed?

Brian - Usually it's the designers call. If the designer is impartial, then sales will do some market teting and make a decision.
