i was wodering if you can do serrations at home or should you have them sent off, and about how much does it cost to have them done

The answer to his question is of interest to me too. I liked the serrations on the false edge of the Buckmaster, and I haven't seen another knife that has them. Can they be added to a knife that's already been heat treated?

Thanks,

You can add them with a set of needle files and a vice. Just plan them out carefully first, and figure out what angle you want them at. I start with the triangular file to cut the initial groove, then set the round file into that groove. If you get the first cut centered, it's pretty easy from there.

Make sure you get some good files if your going to do this on a blade thats been hardened. Diamond would be the best for that.Otherwise they will do a lot of skating across without cutting (makes it really hard to start a groove)And they will get dull really fast.good luck.
