Serrations

Thats odd that the date was 2012. Didnt the description say that they had just received it? Maybe im thinking of the non serrated lolished blade one they had. Hmm. Did it look new?

Yes..absolutely new :)

Good deal either way..This is the second serrated I have owned. The first I sold off when the Umnumzaan first came out. Just dominated the pocket, so I didn't see the sense in having two knives for the same purpose and was using the funds to pay for school.

Now I have just a few Sebenzas, but none are decorated or CGG.

Mine is September 11, 2012 and brand new. Here's an artsy fartsy picture.

I'm the one who picked up the last polished blade lrg micarta from ES, and the date on it was 2011. I'm kicking myself for not grabbing the serrated one instead because I couldn't bring myself to use the pretty polished blade.

The sebenza serrations have me very intrigued. One thing that has always bothered me about serrations is that on other knives, the serrations always seem to be on the wrong side of the blade.

The CRK Green Beret is only serrated on one side, but both sides of the blade are beveled evenly so it sharpens and cuts the same as a non-serrated knife. I don't think the problem with most serrations is that they are only cut into one side or the other, I think that the problem is that the edge bevel is only ground on one side (like Emerson's "chisel v-grind) so that the serrated portion cuts and sharpens differently from the plain edge portion of the blade.

I missed an opportunity for a serration on the Exchange ~6 months ago - been kicking myself ever since....I will own one one day!

You still have more than 1/2 of the blade regular, and if you choke up and put the teeth to bear on cardboard, or rope, etc. it will go through it like it's not even there! I love them…. even have a large Damascus with serrations, CRK said they never made one, but i have the card! Bart

Just pulled the trigger on a Lg 21 w/ serrations. I believe I got a great deal on it. Real excited to try out the serrations! 👍
