Serrations

I have a MT Makora ii that I sent to MT to serrate both sides. It’s now pointy and toothy. Like a kingfish. It’s my favorite blade for several years now. I want to do a big skinner blade with those big deep serrations all across the top of the blade. Saw option is a must. I might end up in a twine factory one day.IMG_8713.jpeg

Mine are just like that [Veff] so you don't want me. Good luck!
David, from seeing your photos, I thought that your serrations were not angled like Veff serrations. On the CRKT knife (Fossil?) I have with Veff serrations, the gullets are sharply angled and deep, which is what makes them unable to work like a saw. The best serrations in my experience have non-angled, shallow gullets, like Boye knives and some Victorinox knives.

Yours do not look angled like Tom's. A straight up and down like yours would be welcomed for different use for sure.

I am looking for something with a little tighter pattern. The included picture is of my BM SUPER FREEK. I would like something similar to this that is straight up and down that is not so "grabby" as Tom's for this application.

One of the most common items I would be cutting is the green 1" banding that my guys use at the shop. It is near impossibly to cut with a straight edge, but is pretty manageable with serrations.

There is something about Microtech serrations, they work great. Something in the pattern, depth, not sure but my MSI will cut through the same banding better than my Benchmades that have the same, or very near same steel composition.

I have a partially serrated blade on my BM 940 from a few years ago that saws thru lots of stuff with authority.

This is a Boye Boating and Rescue Knife with a Sheepsfoot Serrated Dendritic Cobalt blade. These are the best serrations I have ever found. Wide, shallow, sharp gullets. No tiny little gullets that are hard to sharpen.

Wish I could try out a Microtech LUDT, but no local stores carry Microtech.
