Serrations ?

I dont mind a short section of serrations on a fixed blade. Or a fully serrated blade, especially on a two blade knife. Can you imagine a stockman with a serrated sheepsfoot? I'm sure some one makes one.

I like PE's because they are easier to maintain. But my very EDC is a FRN SE Spyderco Delica (the one at the bottom). ;) The poor knife has a couple years of using and abusing but still performs great. :)

This is how I made peace with serrations. I used a Dremel Grinder to cut serrations one inch FROM THE TIP of the blade of a hawkbill knife (Klein Bros.). This way I can still use the plain portion near the hinge of the blade for trimming and cutting towards the thumb (sharpening pencils, etc.). It works great for cutting rope and other fiberous stuff. I have never seen a production knife with this kind of serration location.
The Vic Spirit is a multi-tool that has a sheeps-foot blade with the serrations at the tip. I believe the FAQ here mentions the tip as being the better place for serrations
