Personally, I have NEVER had a need for serrations. They may work great for wet rope, but i have never encountered a wet rope that i needed to cut, that could'nt be easily cut with a sharp straight edge. But i certainly don't do it for a living either, so IDK, maybe some people need them.

Thanks for all the input guys. For my every-day-use, I prefer no serrations. I don't think I've ever 'needed' them but they would've been nice every once-in-a-while.
