Seven Bushcraft Knives forced ranking and mini reviews

Yes, I know its an old thread but just want to add my thoughts, re Spyderco Bushcraft.
I too will add that I think the handle ergos are arguably the best in the business. Its obvious a ton of time and effort went into designing the best.
While many folks criticize where the Spyderco was made, even the most critical concede that its a great knife with many admitting they were shocked.
I like the little details such as the choice to have the blade stock gently curve to meet the handle scales as this provides less chance of a hang up while carving compared to more common abrupt transitions. Also, I noticed that for power its best to grip the knife as close to the blade as possible and really like how the handle is slightly more forward at the spine allowing me to place the web of my hand more directly above the cutting area therefore allowing me to place more controlled force into these cuts.
Admittedly rather small details but its these little things that IMO make this a superior cutting tool to the many similar knives out there.
Frankly, as for the fit and finish? Perfect. I really don't know how they do it but this knife is the only knife I have where I cannot find a single imperfection whether symmetry in blade grinds or the seamless transitions of the handle scales, pins and blade stock and most importantly the symmetry of the handle scales. I don't know how they do it. Its such an organic shape that would be near impossible to make consistently be hand.
Taiwan , is not some dirt floored, child enslaved 3rd world country, its much closer to Japan and S Korea and has the absolute latest in manufacturing technologies as well as a very skilled labour force. These are people making dirt wages. Japan had the same inage at one time by us North Americans, yet that soon changed to the point where "made in Japan" became something to market, well, Taiwan is exactly the same. It started off with the same repuation but times have changed and they have been manufacturing quility for decades now, this knife is proof.
Put it this way, I have and EDC my Spyderco Street Beat and love it but this made in Japan blade, while an awesome knife is just not quite the same level of perfection as the Bushcraft. That says a lot.
