Sever too Busy

Well Spark,

It appears the server is struggling along lately. I have had a rough time the last two days with the "Sever too Busy" Page. Is anyone else having this problem allot lately?? I am guessing so.

Right now it is 3:18 EST and here are the current stats:

There are currently 141 members and 49 guests on the boards

This that enough to wear down bandwidth?? As much as I hate to say it, maybe its time to disable search again. Its an awesome feature, but so is being able to get pages to load

Wish we had a rich benifactor to donate the cash for a new server
 
Same here. It is taking three or four refresh attempts to make the links work.
 
Lots of traffic, what can I say? We're working on it.

Ok, I'm making a second attempt to make this post, as my first one got lost in the 'server too busy' mess.

If possible, would you be able to provide me a description of what hardware this site currently runs on? I'm responsible for building, selling, repairing PCs on a daily basis in our shop, and I may be able to help you out. I'm also responsible for the 16 servers we currently have on-hand, that were built by myself, to handle our ISP operation.

I've got a few contacts in the industry, and if it's something that I can assist you with, I would be more than happy to. These forums have become a real boon to me, since my recent discovery of them, and I would hate to see them come to a grinding halt.

Please drop me a line, and shoot me some details on things. I can see what I can do, and have a pow-wow with you to maybe get something going. What the heck, I can at least try, right? :D
 
I've had the "server too busy, try back later" twelve times today. This is my third attempt to post this.:(
 
Again, I'm sure if the word went out from the top that help was needed, and would be accepted,, to acquire the necessary equipment , many people (like Andrew) would be willing to help.
 
Wow, server load went up to 14, requiring a restart.

Pretty high loads...

That was quite a long period, and it's the first I've seen since visiting these forums.

Needless to say, I sent you an e-mail tonight Spark. Have a read over it, and let me know your thoughts. Maybe I can help in some way.

User load is back to 185, I'd say people are aware we're back open. :D

What do you think Spark? Is it time to disable search again?? I hate to see it go. You would think even with a small episode like this, you would be flooded with Membership upgrades to prevent this from happening:(
