I am going to HATE myself for selling this but the need for cash if forcing my hand. This is a custom-built (by Aaron Riley aka Severtech) Spartan. This is the big, drop-point style blade as opposed to the tanto. (Also featured in the movie Spartan w/ Val Kilmer if you're into those kinds of things) Blade is A2 tool steel hardened to 60 on the RC, 3.95" long with partial serrations. Blade is 3/16 of an inch thick. Scales are 6061 aircraft aluminum, button and pivot are 304 stainless, clip is powder-coated titanium. Weight is 6.5 oz with an overall length of 8.9." This knife would withstand anything short of a direct-hit from a tactical nuke, and even then it would probably just need some minor repairs. Rock solid, ZERO blade blay in any direction. Has been carried a few times, opened some boxes, but never sharpened. Blade has some very light scratches and some, right at the juncture with the scales, that were there when Aaron sent it to me. --WITHDRAWN---Sorry all, I just can't do it! includes shipping via USPS Priority and insurance w/ delivery confirmation anywhere in the ConUS. This is a knife that can be passed down from generation to generation. It's built that tough. Thanks for looking. 1st "I'll take it" to post on the thread gets her. Yes, you are.
The regular sev. is an incredibly strong chunk of a tool, with a great kick and rock solid lockup. The best.
Jim, I know you waited forever for this to be hand made.

Jim is a great guy to buy from. He makes the process easy.

Good luck.
Rich

Would someone buy this please. The longer it sits here, the closer I come to buying it and that just wouldn't be good...

Rich, I know you're right about this one. I might just have to withdraw this baby. Bills be damned!! ;-) Jim SEMPER FI :footinmou

OK, Jim, sell me something else. Save the severtech!
I am always open to good folders and you know I like buying from you.
Regards,
Rich

When I first saw the post and the word SPARTAN.....my heart started THUMPING!!! That is a great piece and I think you are doing the smart thing by hanging on to it! But if it does have to sale................

Smart move....How's about a nice pic though just to drool over ( I collect those too). The photo on the site is just so-so.

The more time that goes by the less hope I have. I was hoping beyond hope that I had maybe just set it down somewhere strange in the house but I know that's just a pipe-dream. My EDC knives go back in the pocket just as sure as I breath. It's automatic you know? (No pun intended) I feel naked without a folder in my right front pocket and I haven't "lost" a knife since I was about 11 years old (an old KaBar and boy did my pop let me have it for losing it!) Anyhow, I appreciate you all keeping any eye open for me but I imagine it's sitting in a pawn-shop somewhere right now. (Maybe I should check that angle. I'm sure whoever pocketed it has no idea what it's really worth?) Thanks again Rich and everyone. Jim SEMPER FI

Does anyone know if Aaron closed his web page it`s not
coming up for me & hasn`t for several weeks did he give up
on the web page???

From reliable sources: Aaron has been super-busy with other work--more lucrative work. Have heard from Severtecher (here on BF) that he IS going to order more stock and make another run of knives but WHEN remains a question. Hope he dosen't give-up making such a great knife but I can understand a man following the $. Jim SEMPER FI

Where can I get one of these Spartans
Im sure they aren`t all sold out someone point me in the right
direction please........ Since Aarons site has closed no information
to be found on anything around... thanks in advance.

the site is severtech.com , nice knives too. probably cheaper to get one second hand, they dont come up often though (i say that and 4 will be on here monday PM lol)

The Spartan is a custom version, only made to order.

The site is down, but here's his numbers:

Phone: 520-791-0358
Fax: 520-791-0359

Didn't he only make ten originally, for use in a movie. He sold those off I believe, and Jim got an additional one made by hand, custom order. Very long wait, also, I believe. You certainly won't see four on sale on one day :D
