I don't post over here much at all and I realize most people don't wander from their "friendly confines" so I decided to amble over. Well I've been tearing my hair out on goloks, custom oyster knives and EDKs..... so I just knocked this one out for fun. I call it the SFC, that was my rank in the Army and I figure Sheeple Friendly Cutlery is a pretty good description of the knife. 90% of you are going to hate it, no damascus, no complicated 987098 piece handles, no titanium bejeweled actions, NO PELICAN CASE!!!! no giraffe bone or mokumegame.

If you've hung around here are the specs:
1084, 3x tempered
2 7/8" overall
1 1/16" cutting edge 400x machine finish
3/32" spine
Stabilized redwood burl with copper mosaic and thong tube.

It's a prototype so yeah, there's some refining that could be done. The SFC has been fairly useful on my keychain. We're not allowed knives at work but my manager said this was cute and I could keep it on my keychain since it's not a "weapon".

As always I have my nomex and kevlar on so feel free to comment. Thanks for taking the time to look.

I like it!! I bet you will sell a whole lot of those!! That is a great little knife.

Looks like it cuts like a scalpel :D

Hmmm I wasn't really doing this to shill for sales, just kind of wanted feedback. I do plan on making more.... would people prefer wood or G10 handles? I was also thinking if I could get them water jet cut I could offer interchangable handles in G10.

NO Rolf... bad Rolf, bad bad bad..... :p

Not sure. I'll use G10 for handle material if I start getting these water jet cut because G10 is the only handle material that holds together.

Right now, grinding them out I'd guess $30-35 plus shipping, including a sheath. That'd be with a choice of black or red linen or paper (can't remember) micarta, or the wood I have in stock.

Cocobolo would be nice.

Ummm I only do carbon steel because I'm a bladesmith and them fancy stainless steels don't heat treat in a forge very well :p...

Cocobolo happens to be one of my favorite handle materials.
