As we would say in Mass, "That's wicked sharp"
I am gonna look into an Edge Pro, I love sharpening on flat stones but those edge pro's seem to be the way to go.
How do those edges hold up on heavy chopping/battoning?

thanks for sharing

Very Nice!
I am fond of most methods of sharpening and have had success with v-edges as well as convex. But, I now use the Edge Pro almost exclusively. My edges come quicker and last very well.

Hey, that's pretty sharp.

If you study up on the Maintenance forum, you will see that one of the 'standards' they use for evaluating sharpness is to hold a piece of paper free-hanging in a pinch grip and see how far away from your fingers you can push cut straight down through the paper. Hard enough with regular paper, like telephone directory pages, this test is extremely difficult with toilet paper.

that video has been shat from an Italian guy I know, we were arguing about who had the better sharpening system, his edge pro or my hands :D
that test is hard, but nothing impossible. I can get same results with my own hands sharpening on waterstones.

the edge obtained through edgepro is just cooler to watch in my opinion (I have edge pro too and I havn't found ANY sharpness advantage against my free hand sharpening system, plus, with edge pro is easier to scratch the blade)

and here are my videos:

any sharpness result achiavable through edge pro is achiavable through free hand sharpening.

hair splicing, shaving, scratching paper surface without getting through.... everything.

Good Lord!!! If I were to wipe with that TP I would be raw. Listen to it.
