The handles of one of my SFNO LEs, specifically #92, has far less orange than those of my other two, #39 and #107. #39 has the most orange of the three.

Dang. #92 is broken. You can go ahead and send it to me I guess. :(

That may mean that #92 is worth more for being different. :foot:

No, No, it's broken. I'll pm you my address. :D

Wow! I like that middle one!

A LOT!

I never did like the wide bands of color, that one looks awesome!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I don't get one like 92, I have seen a lot of tigerhide like that lately.

Thanks alot guys. I was VERY close to having Ken thinking that it was broken, thus sending it to me. That all went out the window with you all saying how much you liked it.

Kinda reminds me of that song from Sesame street many years ago. "One of these things is not like the others".

That might work if it were Blood Grooves posting the pics. :-)

I'm sure it's all from the same batch of micarta, just maybe a 1/2 millimeter thicker or thinner before the machining.

I personally like the uniqueness of #92!

I'm not sure if it is the same batch. Look at the end grain of the micarta, even the edges are darker. That would not be caused by sanding I don't think.

You're right, it is tough to tell. If I were to guess though, I'd say it's the same batch ground at slightly different depths and/or thickness from the original piece.

This one just happened to grind right down to the black layer, and not the orange.

You can see the same wild variation over the years with the Snakeskin Nucarta.

There were also two batches(tiger) used on the ASH LE's.

I sold my ASH with the more orange to get one more muted.

I hope my SFNOLE will be the less orange type, or at least one of them.

I love the different variations...makes for a good reason to have more than one:thumbup: I really like the middle #92.
