Sgian Dubh - sheath done.

Knife looks great, I have a hard time getting over the awkward "pineapple" shape of the thistle too. I really like the rustic look, everything looks very well done.

apparently this type of knife is stored in one's armpit. So, make that an armpit sheath Stu:D

seems the only reason to keep this type of knife in one's boot is when visiting an others' home, where it's only polite to remove concealed weapons from their stash spot and put them in plain view.

Splendid job, Stuart! i dont know how it could have turned out any better than that.

The overall design is indeed some what unorthodox but I like it. How does it feel in the sock ? :p:thumbup:

That is a really nice take on the style - I like it a whole bunch. Never had Bog Oak on a knife - interesting stuff and a neat choice for the right knife - which this certainly is.

Finished the sheath this evening. The finish still needs to level so it will be a little lighter in colour.

I enjoyed figuring out the knot and dragon.

Very well done, Grasshopper! Those Celtic knot patterns are a bear to figure out, but they sure look great when they are finished. The sheath fits the theme of the knife perfectly. Now, get ready for the requests via the special order hot line.

Thanks guys.

You're right Paul.. it took more than a few sketches to figure out a pattern that would fit the shape. Then came the sketches of the head and all the while remembering that a swivel knife is not a pencil so keeping that in mind as I designed.. Still trying to get a handle on all that.

got the new knife tingles! This time- extra tingly!

Dang Stuart.
I really liked your bowies, then the Japanese style knife, now this one, with great leather tooling as well.
How about making something ugly so we will know that you are human.
I have been impressed by everything I have seen you post photos of.
I wonder what will come next. King Tut's Dagger?

Stu and Deb and the kids came out for a really nice visit today! It was a great Father's Day, with us two dads going through my collection, talking knives, and surrounded by kids while our wives got to know each other.

Thanks so much Stuart! I value this knife greatly, but my value for this object is greatly dwarfed by the value I place on our growing friendship. Can't wait for the next one buddy!:D:thumbup:

I took a few photos;
