It came in the mail today. The Steel Heart variant that I purchased at the Blade Show with the sheath Kenny Rowe made for me.

This is a special "pin-lock" sheath with alligator back inlay. As usual Kenny did a wonderful job on the sheath. The "pin-lock" fits through the famous choil hole found in all Busse knives.

When you release the snap the "pin-lock" falls clear allowing you to draw the knife smoothly. This is only the first sheath I will order from Kenny Rowe in Hope, Arkansas.

The inlay is alligator back that I choose to match the diamond quilted micarta. It is a cross draw sheath. Kenny had the knife since the Blade Show and fitted the sheath to the knife perfectly. There is a lot of detail to the sheath that doesn't show in the photo. The pin-lock releases real smooth and latches back easy and secure.

I have already discussed a sheath design for my nine inch variant that Jerry is finishing out for me. ("The Melvin Project") Kenny and I have also discussed a sheath for the "Camp Tramp" I have on order and a sheath for a custom I bought over twenty years ago. Kenny was real easy to deal with and he is such a nice guy. He does first class work.

This SH variant is super nice and calls out for a "walk in the woods."

Melvin - that's a fantastic package! It looks real nice and the pin-lock mechanism is a great touch. Gives it kind of a cowboy look. Does it secure the knife tightly in the sheath? Is it still easy to draw the knife quickly?

Andy - I think it's a great idea to offer Variants with custom Rowe sheaths. In fact, that 9.25" bowie, with tan grips, satin finish, and a sheath like Melvin's...DAMN! That would be something...
