Shabaria clip hole?

I was told that the small hole in the black clip used on the Shabaria was to allow access to the pivot screw. I don't believe this to be true. I understood the purpose of the hole was to allow for the bulge of the pivot head so the clip could be mounted higher on the handle. The same clip is used on the Calypso Jr. Lightweight for the same reason.
Any ideas? Sal?

Does anybody know anything about this?

Frank,

All I know about it is that the hole isn't quite lined up right to access the pivot screw, so I have to agree with your understanding that the hole is to allow the clip to be mounted higher(ride lower in the pocket/waistband) by giving the screw some breathing space.

Frank - both reasons are correct. Access & space limitations on deep pocket carry.
