Shadow of the West - a bowie by Kyle Royer.

Exquisite. I love accents from the spacers as well. They wouldn't have worked as well on a knife that's brighter in color. The dark tones are quite striking.

Wow! Over the top!

That little black integral is still stuck in my head from two Little Rock shows ago...

Pure elegance, Roger, and the guard is a most beautiful accent for this mysterious enchantress!

Please do find and post the Long sheath ASAP. You and Kyle have a real winner here.

I always wonder what is going to show up from Kyle when he has been a little quiet on the forums. This is well worth the wait! What a well thought out piece and result! Congrats Roger and Kyle. This knife is a home run for sure.

I will note, I would like to see a large bowie version of #126. :)

Good stuff!

this goes to show what happens when someone custom orders a knife, and all the right things happen.

Never have I seen, while admiring the fruit of your collecting habits over the years through your posts, Roger, a knife which seems to so thoroughly suit you.

The most interesting aspect of this knife to me is the relieved guard, and what's kept there.

Fantastic work, Royers:thumbup::cool:

Wow, thats impresssive. You brought out some things I haven't seen from Kyle. As Peter said, this thing has serious flow! Dark elegance.

Wow.

Some times, I just feel like I would not have enough intelligent input to make a knife look good.

You sure have an eye for design, and picked a great maker to work with.

There is not a single thing about that design or execution that I would want to change if that was my knife!

Thanks a bunch guys. This was indeed a very rewarding project. I did manage to find the pic Paul sent of the sheath:

From great design input to flawless execution then stunning images then pile on some outstanding leather, WOW!!!!
Congratulations to all involved on making one sure to resurface again. This is one I am sure we will see in the Best Bowie thread. Great score Roger.

Roger, your collection, and your taste, is one of the most valued in modern fixed blades. This particular piece has me pulling up my chair closer. Just lovely.

It's so deceptively dark and smooth. Love the title.

MAJOR props to all!

That's my new favorite bowie! I LOVE the way it looks blued like that, gives it a very sinister look. Amazing collaboration, your great design idea and his flawless execution. Man that's incredible.

Thanks again guys - nice to see that others feel the same enthusiasm for this piece that I do.

Awesome knife, congrats to you!! (and thanks for the informative backstory.)

Thanks for posting this up Roger and also for going through the whole process from its conception. It’s been an absolute pleasure working with you on this knife and getting to play around with your design and theme input was tons of fun! I hope you’ll get lots of enjoyment out of your new knife for as long as you own it and beyond too. :)

Paul, you did a fine job on the sheath!

Caleb’s photo came out really nice, and yes, this knife was very hard for him to capture as well as he did, my quick shots I took of it are a living proof of how shiny, dark and hard it is to photograph a knife such as this. I am very proud of my brother. :)

Everyone, thanks for the awesome compliments and praises you’ve given on this knife, it’s really great to here that you all like it. Well, I’m off to the shop for a little late night frame handle assembly. :D

What a strikingly beautiful knife- congratulations to you both! And Mr. Long did his usual excellent job of complementing the knife and making a gorgeous package.

Thanks for the backstory too.
