  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Shakespeare Ugly Stik?

Great rod if you want something that will last. Built like a rock, you cant break it unless you try to.

But they are about as sensitive as a log of mahogany. A decent IM6 rod will run you around the same price and be much more sensitive.

I’ve caught more fish on Ugly Sticks than any other rod and used them almost exclusively before I learned about all these fancy rods out there. Still have them, still use them.

I have used/owned some expensive rods, and i actually love the ugly stiks. They can take a real beating, are moderately sensitive but i like the action they have for my baitcasters. I don't really like the two piece ones and i don't use them with spinning gear either. My one ugly stik has outlasted 4 of my buddies rods.
