Wanted to add a new thread on the CPM-110V Shallot. For those of you not familiar with this knife you can find an informative thread here.

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=584637

I looks like the production totals will be right around 600 pieces of the plain edge (1840110V), and 300 pieces of the combo edge (1840ST110V).

Here are some pics to enjoy. All will be shipping over the next 2 days.

BEAUTIFUL! The stonewash really looks great against the handle!

Combo edge? No one said anything about a combo edge! Or I missed it completely!:eek: Now I gotta change my order, and quickly, too!

This is fantastic, GG. You guys keep pumping out OUTSTANDING blades and values!

Looking very good GG. I agree with Brad, the stonewash looks great on the Shallot.

I love the understated style of it. Very low key except for the small CPM110V marking. I think I will have to get two to keep one as a backup. I did not do that with the Ti/ZDP Mini-Cyclone and I regret no doing it.

Anyone smart want to tell me which is the better steel, ZDP or CPM-110V?

J_Curd, I would say 110V. I believe it's properties make it a better all around steel than ZDP-189.
But what the heck do I know? :D

ZDP-189 edge retention is identical to S90V so I
would say yes, S110V should be better. Thomas
said it was like ZDP-189 on steroids.

Some people find S90V already does better than ZDP-189, so S110V should do very well.

Hey Thomas, What exactly is the official name of this steel? I've always thought it was an "S" series steel, but with the designation on these blades being CPM-110V that idea goes out the window.
What does Crucible call it?

Ah, I was wondering if anyone would pick upon the missing "S". Yes it should have been marked as CPM-S110V. Thanks for noticing JJ.

what online retailers generally get Kershaws first? I'm thinking knifecenter, that's where I got the 14C28 Random Leek.

I'd check with New Graham. Kershaw to Blue Ridge (Marion, VA) to NGK (Bluefield, VA). Its about an hour drive from BR to NGK. I know NGK has made runs to BR before for stuff...

Mr Thomas W,when will these be available?.Which dealers will have them. Please do reply, interested in getting a couple of them.Thank you.

Most of these knives are going to the larger wholesalers, and most of the etailers buy from these multiple distributors. You should be able to find them at your favorite online places, while the limited supplies last anyway.

As I mentioned in the original post, they will all be shipped in the next 2 days. Should be on the street, in 7-10 days I would think.

I may wait for them, haven't ordered from NGK in a while. It's just those KC newsletters show up in my mailbox and the money is spent before I realize it, and generally a couple days before Mike says he has them.
