I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, so Moderators, please shift to the appropriate subforum...

I just got an email from our knifemaker pal, Shane Ivie, telling me that his father has just been diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing more tests and investigations to discover the extent of his condition. Shane is very close to his Dad and understandably he is worried sick at the moment.

Shane has given me permission to put this on the forums to let you guys know. Your prayers and best wishes of support, would be much appreciated and felt by Shane and his family at this time of need.

Shane won't be able to get to the forums for a little while, so he asks for your patience and understanding.

Thanks. Jason.

It's a "right place" to post, Jason. Thanks for letting us know.

Shane, hang in there! You have our prayers.

Jason, as Fitzo says, you did well by posting here - and elsewhere too as far as I realize. The Lord can do anything he chooses if he chooses to.

MAn, Shane - If you need to talk...Just call friend.

Thanks for that update Jason -- Hang in there Shane. :(

Sometimes you just have to jump on the forums to take your mind off things.....Thanks to you all for your thoughts and prayers.....Were going to need them all. His Tests were done today and we should know within a couple days. Ill keep you all posted.

Thanks again,

Shane

Shane, my friend, I and my wife, Helen, send our prayers for your father's prognosis to be a favorable one. Tell your Dad to think positively. I did thirty two years ago when diagnosed with advanced malignant melanoma. Prayers, a good surgeon, positive attitude---and I am still kicking around making friends like yourself ---Sandy---

My grand father and grand mother died from cancer, and an uncle and a friend. I'm sorry to hear this but they are doing better with it than the past. Your in my thoughts and prayers, especialy at this time of year.

Guys, Thanks for all your kind words, Thoughts and prayers in this matter. It has definatelly helped without a doubt.

Update: We find out tomorrow the Good or Bad news. Its been a long couple weeks. My father has read all your posts and wants to thank you. He said " I cant loose". Too many people praying for me.

My good buddy Sandy Morrissey said one time " I refuse to die......Theres no future in it" I thought that was great and passed it on to my dad. Gave us both a good chuckle.

I will let everyone know the outcome tomorrow. Thanks again for all your support !

Shane

My Dad has kicked Cancers butt for the last six years. Pretty good for an intial diagnosise of 3 months to a year :D :D :D
Dad lost the fight in October.

Shane you and Dad are in my prayers. holler if you want to talk.

Hell....My Grandfather Inlaw has kicked some damn thing for 20 years!!!! They told him in the hospital that if he goes home he will die. He told them to stuff it because it sounded like he was going to die any damn way and he went home.......like I said, that was 20 years ago and he is still suffering but there are powers beyond us my friend :)

Hug his neck for me :)
