Shape of handle Scale??

Randy,
Don't think it may turn out well. It WILL turn out well. If you start applying pressure towards the spine the plunge line will start extending straight up that line. Don't wait until you are at the top to start forming your sweep. Start forming it right away. That will give you lots of attempts at getting it right as you move the sweep up the blade. Take a look at this link from my IG page that shows this idea:

I think i4Marc has nailed it in his sketch 2 on panel 13. The handle is 4 1/2", which is the optimum length. The front of the blade has enough belly and rises just enough to make an excellent skinner.

When I look at some of those early pics on your instagram page it looks like you are hollow grinding. But later looks like flat grind. I flat ground my knife. That's all I've done....flat grind. Can these sweeping curved plunges be done with both hollow and flat grinding?

Sure. There are lots of ways to get those sweeping plunges. Every knife on my IG page is flat ground.
