Maybe a "smallsword" would describe it best... Although the handle and guard are a bit big for that "type".

I use quotes because these types are a modern invention and don't really represent historical language.
 
Many folks think flex has to do with HT. Flex is a matter of geometry and thickness. Young's Modulus is the same for hardened steel as unhardened steel. The only difference a good HT makes is whether it bends, or breaks when flexed beyond the critical point
