  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Shapton pro

Yea heavy handed the 5k shapton pro mainly.. the 8k works fine but the 5k seems to load up immediately.. it'll come off if I rub my finger on it but the swarfy water is hard to get unless I'm polishing s big bevel for a few minutes.. it also feels like it has some bumps in it while I'm sharpening sometimes Idk wth is wrong with this stone but it doesn't seem right

That's how the 5k works. It's a hard almost plastic feeling stone that loads with every bit of metal it removes. You do not want to disturb this loading until the sharpening is complete because as the stone loads the polish becomes finer and brighter.

That explains the mixed reviews I've heard about the 5K.

Yea and that makes me feel better about it thanks Jason.. I will say I like it a lot more making a little slurry on it with a fine dmt diamond key chain sharpener.. much smoother that way
