This is more of a cute/amusing story. A friend and I backpacked off-trail into the Domelands wilderness. We had a camp fire near an old game trail. One evening a kit fox casually trotted down the trail and sat on the opposite side of our fire. Checked us out for several minutes before moving on. There were no signs of human visitation anywhere near us, so I don't think the fox had become accustomed to humans.

This reminded me, a couple of years ago my dad found an abandoned kit sleeping in the middle of the road and brought it home. Wasn't aggressive towards us at all unless we tried to grab it's food plate before it was done. :D A day or two later we found a wildlife rehabilitation woman that took it and released it after it grew a bit.

Last year I did a working holiday in Australia('Straya for the connaisseurs) for a year and half. I didn't see as much snakes as you would think (most I did see were too fast to photograph) but here is a selection of some of the animals that crossed my path during this amazing time of my life.

Redback spider, in a camping shower somewhere.(Neurotoxic and naughty)

Not sure which spider this was. But it was beautiful and it's web was HUGE.

Large-fist-size Huntsman spider eating a grasshopper.(Nom-nom-nom)

Water Dragon, about the length of a large dog.

Wallaby, I interrupted it while it was eating. (But I couldn't be bothered much really)

Brown tree frog. It could whistle. (I'm serious)

Green tree frog. It couldn't whistle. (I'm sure it was jealous of it's cousin)

Some kind of lizard. (It was just chilling in the sun, can you blame him?)

gOXw6J8m

Kookaburra. Quite big. It's call was a weird, monkey-like, laughter. (First time I heard them I didn't know what the hell was going on)

KzqtoYxI

A young platypus. Strangest animal ever. (The man I was with told me he only saw one in his fifty year old life, so i felt blessed)

0vHpIM1G

Carpet python. Very timid snakes I've been told. (Did not test)
