Share Your Buck Knife Display

Wow that was a great experience flipping through those pictures. Had I looked through these first it would have been very inspiring I'm sure.
Heres my now temporary display.

My box closed and open. Glass protects against dust but gets worse view.
I think I need the second box for more room.

Very nice displays guys! Sorry JB, I don't have a display up either. I used to, but I prefer to use most of mine. I took it down to "rearrange" about 2 years ago, and when I got home one day, well, my wife had her Boyds Bears collection in it...
I could take a picture of the case they used to reside in though :D

HHHHAAAAAHHHAAAAAAAAAAAA!!I had to have a good laugh over that one!I can show you probably the exact same cabinet right behind me,guess whats in it?boyds bears.LOL

I love all the displays,I have mine locked into a gun safe,a few years back i had a break in and lost some of my favorite knives i had collected over the years, they were in knife rolls and they stole almost all,the sheaths and boxes were sperate so i still have most of those with no knives .Great displays guys!

Been contemplating a unit to hang on the wall. What would you recommend to hold the knives to the unit? Also, I've heard certain felt fabrics can harm blades?

How nice to see this old thread come back to life!

Well CDN, some of the chemicals in adhesives, glues, and stains, varnish, foams can off gas and start to oxidizes your collection. There is an old thread started by PBD, in that thread he has this oxidation issue with a Buck made display box. I'm sure some of the folks who make their own cases can give you good advice on this.

Now what type of display case do you have in mind? I like the 3 D type cases, that I can put a knife stand into and give the display some depth. A lot of folks like the shadow box type of case so it's more like a picture hanging on the wall. You need to tell us what type of case you have in mind.

Here is one of my 3 D cases with knife stands. I can put from 1-5 knives per stand to give a 3 D effect. I have the plastic cover off for the photo as the cover reflects the light in the photos.

Here was the display that jb4570 mentioned in the post above and the damage caused to the knives. However, the display case wasn't a Buck made case, it was purchased from an online display case dealer.

Actually I was considering a window box style, approximately 5' x 8' x 5" with some sort of built in lighting.

I added this glass topped humidor to display purpose since I no longer smoke cigars.

small size buck boxes and a couple nicnacs stored underneath.

The popular Scandinavian big box vendor has some attractive glass diaplay cases I'm considering (name starts with "I" and ends with "a"). They lock and have provision for lighting. Google Ixxa glass display case and you will see what I mean.

I'm using some of the lovely wife's wood/glass illuminated china cabinet but long for a clean one-theme all glass lockable case for the growing cutlery crowd.

Then there is the "where to put it' question that is puzzling since the inside of the house is hers by prior agreement...
