Their locking Lags are superb, wonderful lock-bar that is the spring, unobtrusive.
The XS 9cm small Lag is a big favourite of mine but their bigger Lags have lock option too, I find conventional 10-12 cm Lags just too big for my pocket but others don't :)

Having just dipped my toe in the Laguiole waters, I agree with Will. What a pleasure it is to carry this 9cm locking Laguiole. Mechanically and aesthetically it's just about perfect.

Nice one Gary! Very ornate file-work yours has  but what are those scales? Looks a bit like Tortoise..:cool:o_O

They make a very nice compact carry, great food snack knives too.

Thanks, Will

Thanks, Will. I'm growing very fond of this little knife. It's a great slicer.
The scales are French Walnut, speced as gunstock quality. Really nice color and figure.

As the old wave types in the 70s used to say "ACE!":D Fantastic colour to that Walnut, I thought it was Tortoise:cool: F-P offer it, but does it cost...not half!:D

Nice Laguiole, Gary! Most impressive pic. Do you mind doing some more views??

Beautiful Gary!
Put me over the top.... Laguiole ordered.

Thanks, Gary!! Great example!!
I hope someone who has a Collection, or at least a few examples does a side by side by side etc. comparison!:)

The shapes vary somewhat . . . . . .

These have absolutely caught my eye! That one is beautiful! How is the 10cm curved handle in the hand?

The swell in the handle makes it feel secure and substantial. I have medium size hands and I think this is a great knife in the hand. I traded up to this one because the 9cm LAGUIOLE XS CLASSIC was just sooo small. It was a lovely little knife but I just wanted more handle for the size and the Capuchadou fit the bill perfectly.

I'm interested in the F-P Chamois 10cm. What's Briar like? Is it like what pipe bowls are made of?

Thanks, Will

Pity, the eyes and whorls can look very attractive on pipe bowls (if anybody still makes them anymore that is?o_O) Must be tough though I suppose?

A local tobacco shop has "wood" and "wooden" pipes. Pretty safe bet they're not the "imported briar" of yore. On pipes I believe it's the root of the briar that's used.
