Photos Sharing CRK Art - My CRK Collection

Gotcha. Apologies... I thought it was a UG Damascus. I didn't realize it is the Damascus pattern. Wow, that's REALLY beautiful...

The different Damascus styles are beautiful. I wish some of them were still offered.

Quite the nice collection, LW.

The gorgeous 25 in my sig would fit right in...trade me something!

Loving the pics, they're all so far quite stunning. I was sad to see the LH regular double lug go. It was one of my favorites :sorrow:

I think the Native American is one of my all time favorite designs. I hope to one day get my hands on a large.

Do you have an end goal for your collection or is this an ever evolving assortment of working art?

Ever evolving. In fact, there's going to be some changes soon after all the pics are taken.

That is one impressive collection. I've seen you share some gems over the past few years, but I had no idea your collection was this extensive! You can see me right now but I'm taking my hat off to you and your collection.

Thank you!

That is what I was able to find as well. Considering how limited they were I was almost surprised at the prices on the only sales I could find. I expected them to be three or four house payments, rather than only one or two, lol. My firstborn may fetch enough to cover it if the bidder paid before he opened his mouth :p

How recent were the sales?

Yeah, I'm kind if kicking myself. I decided that since the lefty is leaving, I'm going to turn the righty loose, too.

Hey Lone Wolfe - I have never had the chance to behold a CRK of any type , with the size of your collection I must assume they are very nice as I have always heard nothing but praise, I design/build custom trophy knives and keep a small collection of microtechs, piranhas, Kershaws , and assorted autos, would you have a CRK that you would barter or sell ?

The next round is................... BG-42 blade steel. I also included one that may be ATS-34, and another that is, just because that's all the ATS-34 I have.

So here we go............

Well if you like OTF'S I have a microtech utx-70 and Ultratech both drop point blades/ black from 2014, never carried but I did put a usable edge on the Ultratech as it came factory with what seemed like a 40+ degree edge , If you like Benchmade asst. I have a Volli and Barrage , I did carry the Barrage a few times to work, but my collection rotates frequently, I have more than I can list, just got a Ratworx that I think is nice but the autos stay home being the fact I work for a child support enforcement unit in upstate N.Y. , I usually carry a small slip joint or friction folder , not knowing what you rotate in your collection or your preference on any barter/trade that you might find agreeable but you might agree for a 1 CRK for 2 or perhaps 3 of mine as i could send a pic of my more select stock of wares both fixed and folders to perhaps help you move a somewhat gently used piece that you wouldn't miss , not sure how to navigate these forums for your e-mail, mine is kberlin68@gmail.com, if time permits send a pic w/ it's specs and your email so I may reciprocate , thanks for your time and all the best to you and yours- K . Berlin

So why am I prepping the pics for the BG bladed post, with Staying Alive going through my head....... Because the mind is a terrible punster, that's why!

So here we go.....

The group

BG42s-all2.jpg

Here we have a righty small Regular from 2001, a safe queen. The Mnandi is the Redwood Burl numbered #2 of 25 featured in the LE group.

Next up is a pair of small lefties, a Classic and a Regular, Still safe queens here.

Next up is a large Classic, and a dog-eared small Regular UG. The UG has many hours of pocket time, and has the scars to prove it. The coloring from it's graphics is almost gone, and it has the appearance of the well-loved Seb is is. Anyone who credits me with cleaning the knives for these pics had best skip this one! :o

This is a large Regular CGG 'Maple Leaf' from 2001 that I haven't been able to find out much about. I've only seen this large, a small, and 2 Umfaans of this design. When I turn this one loose I'm going to try to get it to one of out friends north of the border, with that Canadian design. Below that is a tanto blade done by Chris for NICA, National Independent Cutlery Association. There were 400 larges made of BG-42, and a later run of 200 more in SV30. Since this one is in this post, it's a BG-42. Cool design, too. It's the only reverse silver that I own.

Now we have an original small Sebenza with ATS-34 steel, and a previous owner put a pocket clip on the slab side. Neat little piece of CRK history. Below that is a large Regular UG, pre date code. BG-42 steel, graphics done by Chris. It's from an era when the graphics were much simpler, often repeating the same shape several times. A fantastic artform still in it's infancy, this beauty is a part of it's history.

Here it is with the Maple leaf CGG

And all 4 of my large BG-42's...

Not trying to! :o

I won't be posting much this weekend, but have will pick up in a few days with more groups and some detailed pics. Planning all the Regulars, Patriotic designs, (semi) matched pairs, CGG's and UGG's, damascus blades, plus any suggestions I get here. ;)

I think we should each pick our favourite 3 and you take a pic for us....... ;)

Go right ahead, I'll be glad to.

Okey Dokey!

#1 is easy. Native American. Love the simplicity and clarity of design, but also the deeper meaning represented in the symbols. Reminds me of rock art of ancient people I've seen and hope to visit........

#2 The 2004 annual with the secret owl is so cool!

#3 Getting difficult now..... I love the Damascus ROF blade but the wood doesn't flick my switch. I love the simplicity of the CGG Maple. Always had a soft spot for the sky at night. The sapphire stone version is amazing.

Sorry I think I need more than 3...... ;)
